Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with The Compassion Center! As a non-profit organization in Southeast Baltimore, we are dedicated to empowering vulnerable individuals and families by providing essential food, clothing, and household items. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, our work creates lasting positive change in the community, serving approximately 650 households weekly through our programs. Your time and compassion can make a real difference—join us in this mission of support and service.

Why Volunteer with Us?

Volunteering at The Compassion Center is a rewarding way to give back to the Baltimore community. Our dedicated team of 30-40 volunteers helps distribute about $9 million in food annually, along with clothing, pet food, baby supplies, and more. Whether you're assisting with hands-on distribution or behind-the-scenes tasks, you'll be part of a compassionate effort that supports the elderly, disabled, orphans, widows, and families in need.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have a variety of roles to match your skills and availability. Here's what we're currently seeking:

  • Food Distribution: Help us serve 500-600 households each week. We primarily need volunteers on Tuesdays and Fridays to sort, pack, and distribute food items.

  • Clothing Distribution: Partner with us and the Lutheran Mission Society on Saturdays to organize and provide clothing to those in need.

  • Administrative Tasks: Support our operations with office work, data entry, scheduling, or other behind-the-scenes help to keep everything running smoothly.

No prior experience is required—we value your enthusiasm and willingness to serve.
